Our HD Savage bases will work with any short or long action round back Savage rifle. The round back on this mount will accommodate rounded receivers, and guns that have an accu-trigger. Savages without an accu-trigger will require our flat back mount (listed separately).
Our mount is drilled for and provided with 6-48 Torx Head screws. Some Long Action Savage guns (like the .338 Lapua or 110 BA) require 8-40 screws. Our mount is counter-sunk for 8-40 screws. We are happy to provide 8-40 screws in place of the 6-48 screws at no additional charge, if you are capable of modifying the mount yourself. For a $10 manual charge, we are happy to drill the mount to accomodate the 8-40 screws for you. This manual work will delay the shipping of your order by approximately 1-2 weeks. Please select the screw size that you need from the list prior to adding the mount to your cart.
This mount is machined from solid 7075 aluminum. Our short action Savage mount is also available in steel, listed separately here.
The middle spread is the distance between the two middle holes, center to center, on your receiver. The middle spread on our short action mount is 3.925". The middle spread on our long action mount is 4.625".

EGW set out on a mission to ask you, the customer, what the ideal scope mount would look like. We then incorporated these characteristics into the design of our Heavy Duty (HD) scope mount line.
These HD one-piece scope mounts are precision machined from solid 7075 T6 (max hardness) aircraft grade aluminum. Our Short Action mount is available in solid pre-hardened 4140 chromoly steel for $119.99 (to purchase a steel mount, see our separate listing).
Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The cross slots are also machined the full width of the mount and gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specs maintaining tolerances of +/-.002".
EGW’s Heavy Duty (HD) mounts are lower in height than our tactical rails, which reduces weight and gives the shooter a better cheek weld.
After machining; the mounts are tumbled and sand blasted. The aluminum mounts are Type III hard coat anodized for long lasting durability. The steel rails are Mil Spec parkerized for a durable rust resistant finish.
