The bolt pattern on our Remington 700 Short Action mount fits Short Action Remington 700 rifles (example 223, 308), as well as the 740 and 40x. Despite what you may have heard, the Remington 700 mount will NOT fit your Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard. The bolt pattern is similar, but the remainder of the mount (ejection port, length, etc.) render it useless on these two guns.
This mount is machined from solid pre-hardened 4140 chromoly steel. Our Remington Short Action mount is also available in 7075 aluminum, listed on our website here.
The middle spread is the distance between the two middle holes, center to center, on your receiver. The middle spread on this mount is 3.625".

This HD one-piece scope mount is precision machined from solid pre-hardened 4140 chromoly steel. Our Remington Short Action mount is also available in solid 7075 T6 (max hardness) aircraft grade aluminum for $69.99 (to purchase an aluminum mount, see our separate listing).
Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The cross slots are also machined the full width of the mount and gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specs maintaining tolerances of +/-.002".
EGW’s Heavy Duty (HD) mounts are lower in height than our tactical rails, which reduces weight and gives the shooter a better cheek weld.
After machining; the mounts are tumbled and sand blasted. The aluminum mounts are Type III hard coat anodized for long lasting durability. The steel rails are Mil Spec parkerized for a durable rust resistant finish.
