Steel HD Savage Short Action Round Back Picatinny Rail Scope Mount

Our HD Savage base will work with any short action round back Savage rifle. The round back on this mount will accommodate rounded receivers, and guns that have an accu-trigger. Savages without an accu-trigger will require our flat back mount (listed separately).

The middle spread is the distance between the two middle holes, center to center, on your receiver. The middle spread on our short action mount is 3.925".

EGW set out on a mission to ask you, the customer, what the ideal scope mount would look like. We then incorporated these characteristics into the design of our Heavy Duty (HD) scope mount line.

These HD one-piece scope mounts are precision machined from either solid 7075 T6 (max hardness) aircraft grade aluminum or solid pre-hardened 4140 chromoly steel.

Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The cross slots are also machined the full width of the mount and gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specs maintaining tolerances of +/-.002".

EGW’s Heavy Duty (HD) mounts are lower in height than our tactical rails, which reduces weight and gives the shooter a better cheek weld.

After machining; the mounts are tumbled and sand blasted. The aluminum mounts are Type III hard coat anodized for long lasting durability. The steel rails are Mil Spec parkerized for a durable rust resistant finish.

Installation: Socket head Torx® screws and wrench are included. EGW recommends a dab of blue Loctite on each screw.
