This is typically a drop in part when measurements are provided. Minor fitting may still be required depending on the precision of the measurements provided and the machining of the slide and barrel. Please do not add any tolerances to the measurements you provide. Our machinist will add the appropriate tolerances.

EGW's Melt bushing is machined from solid barstock steel.

Melt Bushings offer a unique look to the front of your 1911.

Melt Bushings require a two piece guide rod set-up to disassemble your gun. The spring will need to be taken out of the back as well. The flange on the melt bushing is too large to allow a spring plug to pull out from the front.

PLEASE NOTE. IF YOU SELECT THE COMMANDERIZE OPTION THERE IS AN APPROXIMATE 2-3 WEEK LEAD TIME.

The flange thickness is .125" which protects the barrel more because it sticks out farther than the spec bushing.

Available in Stainless Steel and blued Carbon Steel.

Gunsmith Fit is available in all O.D.'s with a .568" I.D. Straight Bore.

O.D. of the bushing = Inside diameter of your slide - usually .699" - .705";
I.D. of the bushing = Outside diameter of your barrel - usually .575" - .583".

Please measure these two areas with calipers to find the sizes you need.
Please select your options carefully.

Please provide exact measurements, as our machinist will allow for clearance.

Angle Bore is bored on an angle or a snug fit (measurements must be precise);
Straight Bore is bored straight without variation.

Please allow 3 weeks for custom bored bushings.
